Thirteen Projects from Donors Opt

I was making my monthly donation at Donors Choose and it was hard to pick which project to donate to. All these teachers asking for principal supplies for their classes. If I could fund them all, I would. So I thought I'd pass it on to you.

Supply Dream. Ms. O, grades 3 - 5, Dallas, TX: My students fundamental a a variety of supplies for their classroom that include; pencils, heavy duty stapler, little staplers for each bring table, tough tape dispenser, white board erasers, pocket portfolios, tissue for their smidgin noses, and storage bins to keep it all organized.

Wanted!! Basic Classroom Supplies. Mrs. M, grades 3 - 5, Uninhibited, MS: My students need basic supplies like, crayons, pencils, color pencils, copy ownership papers, tape, card stock, dictionaries, and the list goes on and on.

New School Year + New Students = A Need for Vital Supplies. I have two things that I unqualifiedly wanted to blog about today and I absolutely can’t decide which one to post on.  And multiple posts in one day are a secure fire way for readers to miss one or both posts.  But these things are equally important to me in different ways so I’m affluent to talk about both (I’ll do my best to keep it brief…but you all know that my parentheticals can run longer than some people’s posts so don’t look forward too much from me).

Yesterday was

the fifth anniversary of my grandmother’s death. My mother wrote about it as well, so you can go over there and send her some bloggy hugs because I’m safe she needs extra ones.
It would take me hours to tell you about my grandmother and all of her wonderful, stylish, quirky, caring ways and inevitably, I’d be sitting here bawling and cursing whatever forces in the corner led to the tragic manner in which she met her end.  But that’s not what she’d want, so I’ll stick with brevity (my eternal enemy in all things literary).
My grandmother was a salt and pepper haired ball of energy who often cared so hard that she came across as high and invasive.  She had her opinions and she usually shared them. Loudly. She was also the only person I’ve ever seen (outside of actresses in some movies) who could shy a turquoise track suit out of the closet, combine it with a cloisanne brooch, diamond earrings and a vibrant sprinkling of coral lipstick and look stunningly classy.  She bought me things like topographical globes and electric pencil sharpeners for Hannukah because that’s how leading education was to her.  I suffered through three loooong years of confirmation with some of the snottiest, most evil Squirrel Hill Jews in existance good to make my grandmother happy.  I’m serious…ask my mom, Sundays were torturous for me but I
